William was born about 1159 in Reading & Ellesborough, Bucks, England.1   William's father was Walter Cantelou and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Walter de Cantelou and <Unknown>. He had two sisters named Maud and Mabel.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died on April 7th, 1239 in Ellesborough, Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England.2 

William's first family with Sibil

William and Sibil were married about 1178.3   They had a daughter named Isabel.


William's second family with Mecelin Braci

They had five sons and two daughters, named William, Walter, John, Nicholas, Thomas, Maud and Isabelle.
