Maxwell Roland was born on January 13th, 1891 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., Indiana.1 Maxwell Roland's father was Anthony PAYTON and his mother was Levenia C. WHITED. His paternal grandfather was William PAYTON. He had a brother and five sisters, named PAYTON, PAYTON, Enola Ethel, Edith May, Hallie Clyde and Ruby Evelyn. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 39 in 1930.General Notes
