Fred Earl PAYTON 
Fred Earl was born on November 15th, 1887 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Fred Earl's father was William Harvey PAYTON and his mother was Alice Massie DENMAN. His paternal grandparents were Thomas PAYTON and Martha Ann STOUT. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Ted Gilderoy, Jesse Claude, Zora Dean, Grace Lee and Anna Gertrude. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 19 on September 30th, 1907 in Parke Co., Indiana. He was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Parke Co., Indiana.2 1 General Notes
DEATH: DIED - Sept 30, Fred Peyton, after an illness of two months of typhoid fever, resulting in congestion of the lungs. He came home sick while in the employ as bookeeper of Vaughn & Casey of Crawfordsville. He was the oldest son of Wm. and Alice Peyton age 19 years 10 months 15 days. He leaves his father, mother, two brothers and three sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services by Revs. Collings and Whitlock at Mt. Moriah church Tuesday. Interment in the new cemetery nearby. The parents, brother and sisters wish to extend their thanks and gratitude to the many who were kind and sympathizing bringing beautiful floral tributes to their loved one who is the first to break the family circle.
