Aedh was born about 0833.¹ Aedh's father was Cinead Mac Alpin and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were King of Kintyre and Argyll Alpin Mac Eochaid and of Galloway. He had a brother and a sister, named Causantin and Maelmare. He was the oldest of the three children. He died in 0878.²
