John Ewing was born on March 22nd, 1843 in Saline Co AR. John Ewing's father was George Sidney (Gid) Green and his mother was Mary Ann Clardy. His paternal grandparents were John Green and Jane Kerr. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Francis Pickens, Elias J, Benjamin Calhoun, George Washington, Sarah Elizabeth and Agnes J.
