James Thomas Goodnight

James Thomas was born in 1844.¹ James Thomas' father was John D. Goodnight and his mother was Frances Pond Childress. His paternal grandparents were Edward Goodnight and Sarah "Sally" Dye. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Joshua C., Edward, Presley Harrison, William Henry, Ruth J., Dulcena Pendleton, Sarah Ann, Lucinda and Mary Margaret. He was the third youngest of the ten children.
