James Forbes 
James was born about 1574 in Corse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. James' father was William Forbes and his mother was Elizabeth Strachan. His paternal grandparents were Patrick Forbes and Marjory Lumsden. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Arthur, Alexander, Robert, Margaret, Agnes, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
