Lema D. was born on February 15th, 1905.  Lema D.'s father was Rev. Simon Dillard Simmons and her mother was Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Spencer Moore.  Her paternal grandparents were Zachariah Thomas Simmons and Mary Louisa Dodson. She had eight half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Isaac Clinton, Lewis Dillard, William Austin, Jacob Z. T., Simon, James Amos, Fredrick Moulton, Samuel Litton, Hettie Jane, Margaret Lou, Stacy Hortense, Winnie 'Willie' E., Eliza Mae and Essie.  She died at the age of 96 on May 20th, 2001 in Greeneville, Greene Co, TN.
