Rhoda was born in 1826 in Robertson Co, TN.1   Rhoda's father was William Roberts and her mother was Elizabeth Unknown.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Roberts and Frances Langston. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Samuel B., George Wesley, Ryland, John N., James Monroe, Henry H., Hannah and Jane.  She was the third oldest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named Thomas N. Wilson.1
