Mary E. was born on September 21st, 1899 in Van Buren Co, TN.  Mary E.'s father was James Thomas Miller and her mother was Margaret D. Simmons.  Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Lewis Simmons Sr. and Nancy Caroline Beatty. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James Benjamin, Joseph William 'Joe', David Albert, Fanny, Lucy Catherine 'Cassie', Maggie and Jennie.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 73 in January 1973 in Spencer, Van Buren Co, TN.
