William H. was born in 1859 in Kings Mountain Twp, York Co, SC.1   William H.'s father was William H. Howell and his mother was Harriet Hannah Houser.  His maternal grandparents were Henry Houser and Faithy Jones. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Lawson Joel, John J., Benjamin Franklin, Rejoiner William, Mary Caroline, Sarah Emma 'Sally' and Harriet Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 71 in 1930 in Enloe, Delta Co, TX.  He was buried in Pierce Cemetery, Lake Creek, Delta Co, TX.
