David Harry was born on October 2nd, 1851 in Shelby, Cleveland Co, NC.  David Harry's father was William Clayton Goforth and his mother was Jane Christina Houser.  His maternal grandparents were Henry Houser and Faithy Jones. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Henry Pinkney, William Harrison Henry, Frank, Charles Lee, Cyrus Robson Ross, Faithy Ann, Sarah Elizabeth, Caroline Calline, Jane Elizabeth, Chastity Mary Ida and Charlotte.  He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 94 in January 1946 in Clovis, Curry Co, NM.
