Meda Afeter was born on May 20th, 1888 in Carroll Co, TX.  Meda Afeter's father was Elijah William Autry and her mother was Mary Elizabeth McCauley.  Her paternal grandparents were Rev. Elijah Henry Autry and Mary Louise Parish. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Elijah Calvin, Felix Martin, William Franklin, Thomas Leander, Johnny Joseph, Delbert, Homer Esra, Elizabeth Velulah, Martha G., Louisie Tryphenia, Minnie Elizabeth and Nora Belle.  She was the third youngest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 80 on September 11th, 1968 in Tarrant Co, TX.  She was buried in Indian Creek Cemetery, Cooke Co, TX.
