Count Berthold of Henneberg I

Berthold was born about 1108 in Wurzburg, Unterfranken, Bavaria.¹ Berthold's father was Count Gotwald of Henneberg I and his mother was Lukard von Hohenberg. His paternal grandparents were Count Poppo of henneberg I and Princess Hildegard of Thuringia; his maternal grandparents were Berthold von Hohenberg and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and a sister, named Poppo, Gebhard, Gunther, Otto and Hildegard. He was the fifth oldest of the six children. He died in 1157.¹
