William de Port

William was born about 1122 in Basing, Hampshire, England.¹ William's father was Henry de Port and his mother was Hawise de Basing. His paternal grandparents were Sheriff of Hampshire Hugh de Port and Orence de Basing. He had two brothers and a sister, named Hugh, John and Etheldreda. He was the second oldest of the four children.
