Hugh de Port

Hugh was born about 1118 in Basing, Hampshire, England.¹ Hugh's father was Henry de Port and his mother was Hawise de Basing. His paternal grandparents were Sheriff of Hampshire Hugh de Port and Orence de Basing. He had two brothers and a sister, named William, John and Etheldreda. He was the oldest of the four children.
