Agatha was born about 1079 in Skelton Castle, Yorkshire, England.1  Agatha's father was Lord Cleveland, Earl of Annandale Robert de Bruis II and her mother was Agnes St. Clair.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert le Brus I and Emma de Brittany; her maternal grandparents were Walderne de St. Clair and Helen (Le Bon) de Normandy. She had two brothers named William and Robert.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Adam, John, Crusader, Hortense, Matilda, Amicia and Philena.  She died in 1142 in Skelton, Yorkshire, England.2
