Henry, known as Beauclerc, was born on February 21st, 1069 in Selby, Yorkshire, England and his baptism took place there on August 5th, 1100.1 2  Beauclerc's father was William (The Conqueror) de Normandie and his mother was Matilda (Maud) of Flanders.  His paternal grandparents were Robert (The Magnificent) Normandy II and Heleve Arlette de Falaise; his maternal grandparents were Baldwin of Flanders V and Princess Adelais Capet of France. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Curthose, Rufus, Richard, Gundrella, Cecilia, Alice, Agatha, Constance and Matilda.  He died at the age of 66 on December 1st, 1135 in St. Denis, Seine-St. Dennis, France.  His burial was on January 4th, 1135 in Reading Abbey, Reading, Berkshire, England.3 1
