Eadward the Elder 2nd son of Aelfred the Great, succeeded his father. He was married 3 times, 1. Ecguina, daughter of a shepherd, 2. Ealfleda, daughter of Earl Aethelhelme and 3. Eadgina, daughter of Earl Sigeline. Of his children:
Aethelstan, his successor, reigned 925-940.
Aelfred d. during the lifetime of his father.
Eadith m. Selrick, the Danish King of Northumberland and afterwards became the Abbess of Tamworth and was known as "Sister Beatrice".
Ealsworth d. about 925.
