Born in house on East side of New State Road, South of Hanville Corner Toad. The house is owned by John Will since 1948. Later lived with Brother Lloyd and Mother and Father on home farm, located on West side of New State Road, South of Hanville Corner Road.

Graduated from North Fairfield High School - 1942

Joined Army Air Corp - 1943 during WWII. Became a pilt, Flew C47's mostly.

Married Thelma M. Seville,
Bought land at NE corner of New State Road and Hanville Corner Road from his Faterh. Built house and garage. In the garage be built the business "Baker's Garage", diesel and welding service.

TRUCK PINS MECHANIC
A mechanic was critically injured Thurday morning at the Juron County Highway Garage when a county truck pinned him against a workbench.
Donald L. Baker, 52, Hanville Corner Road, North Fiarfield, is in critical condition today in the intensive care unit at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. He reportedly suffed crushed ribs and a dislcated hip.
A witness to the accident, Jarnes J. Smith, 6 W. League St., said the accident occurred about 9 am. Baker, who has been a mechanic with the county for six years was working at a workbench in front of a county truck.

Robert S. Andrews, 114 Newton St., a truck driver for the county, climbed into the truck and prepared to back it from the garage, said Smith.
"Nobody knows what happended," said Smith, "but instead of going in reverse, it (the truck) went ahead," pinning Baker to the workbench. Smith, also a county mechanic, said he tried to pull Baker from the truck's path but was too late. "It kind of shook us all up, to happen right around now," said Myron Sweet assistant county highway superintendent.
