Narrative

Baker relatives believed to come from Coldwater, Michigan area. Owned land around Coldwater Lake.
March 1995 Newspaper clipping found in Bertha Baker's scrapbook: no date, no paper ID

Marion Baker was seriously and painfully hurt last Saturday afternoon on the Mrs. Maude Chisholm's farm where he was thrasing. Something became clogged in the machinery and Mr. Baker reached in to an opening to release the obstruction. His right wrist was caught in an iron peg which punched a hole in his wrist and whirled his arm around a number of times before the machinery could be stopped. His helpers took him to the Willard Hospital where he was taken care of and at present is resting as comfortable as can be expected. It was thought at first that Mr. Baker would lose his right hand, possibly his arm, but the doctors are trying to save it for him.

Services held at Graham Young Funeral Home, North Fairfield, Ohio on Friday, January 9, 1959 at 2:00 pm Officiating Minister Rev. P.J. Garcia
