His paternal grandparents were John Gillett and Mary Mercy Barber; his maternal grandparents were Anthony Austin and Ester Higgins. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, Daniel, Isaac, Charles, Joseph, Noah, Elizabeth and Mercy.1 -
