Narrative
[1835673.ged]
David is said to have come to this country from England with at least two brothers. He is believed to have landed in Virginia and migrated down to North Carolina where he may have started his family. He moved from the Edgecombe, Nash County, North Carolina area to Wake County, North Carolina where he is known to have owned land. He apparently then moved to Spartanburg County, South Carolina area about 1758, where he lived the remainder of his life. David's Will names his wife and all of his children.
Apparently, some of the older children had started families along his route and stayed in the area as David, Elizabeth, and the younger family moved on. This is unusual as normally the children migrated and left the parents behind.
Others have information that David was born in Virginia and was the son of William Cooper & Elizabeth, who were both from England. They had children: George 1715, Ann 1717, John 1720, Marvin 1721, David 1725, Thomas, & James.[marshallc83.ged]
