Dietrich Markgraf was born about 1129 in Of, Meissen, Dresden, Saxony.1 Dietrich Markgraf's father was Konrad "Der Grosse" Markgraf von Meissen and his mother was Luitgard Countess von Schwaben. His paternal grandparents were Thimo Count von Wettin and Ida Prinzessin von Bayern; his maternal grandfather was Albert im Schwabengau. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Heinrich Prinz, Otto "Der Reiche" Markgraf, Hermann Count, Heinrich I Count, Dedo V von Groitzsch &, Friedrich I Count, Oda Prinzessin, Bertha Prinzessin, Gertrud Prinzessin, Adele, Sofie Prinzessin and Agnes Prinzessin. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He died on February 9th, 1185 in Kloster Petersbu, Sachsen, Prussia.1 -
