Hermann Count was born about 1130 in Of, Meissen, Dresden, Saxony.1 Hermann Count's father was Konrad "Der Grosse" Markgraf von Meissen and his mother was Luitgard Countess von Schwaben. His paternal grandparents were Thimo Count von Wettin and Ida Prinzessin von Bayern; his maternal grandfather was Albert im Schwabengau. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Heinrich Prinz, Otto "Der Reiche" Markgraf, Dietrich Markgraf, Heinrich I Count, Dedo V von Groitzsch &, Friedrich I Count, Oda Prinzessin, Bertha Prinzessin, Gertrud Prinzessin, Adele, Sofie Prinzessin and Agnes Prinzessin. He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. He died in 1177.1 -
