William Meakins Knight 
William Meakins was born on December 17th, 1834 in Jasper County, GA.1 William Meakins' father was John Knight and his mother was Brunetta Middlebrooks. His paternal grandparents were John Knight and Mary Carrington; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Middlebrooks and Anna Selman. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named John C. Thomas, James Madison, Selman Carrington, Joseph Jefferson, Columbus Albinus, Jasper Stephens, Mary Emeline, Bethany Adaline, Sabina Ann, Sarah Thomas, Georgiana, Martha Catherine, Frances Elizabeth and Eugenia Jones. He was the eighth oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 57 on August 29th, 1892 in San Antonio, TX.1 -
