William Fortson 
William was born about 1800.1 William's father was Richard Fortson and his mother was Lucy Tate Arnold. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Fortson and Rachel Winn; his maternal grandparents were William Arnold and Susannah Tate. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Tavner W., Benjamin Winn, James Thomas, Sarah, Mary, Susan Tate, Mildred and Elizabeth.1 -
