Nathan was born on April 16th, 1825 in Salisbury, New Hampshire.. Nathan's father was Nathan Tucker and his mother was * Sarah. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Tucker and Lydia Stevens. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Peter Bartlett, Harrison, Levi W., Mary, Harriet, Harriet N. and Phebe Dustin. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
