Fay Olen Hillard 
Fay Olen was born on March 25th, 1891 in Stryker, Williams County, Ohio. Fay Olen's father was Sylvester Allen Hillard and his mother was Mary Etta Vaus. His paternal grandparents were William Henry Hillard and Elizabeth E. Bailey. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John William, Loy Allen, Forest Rex, Dale Vaus, Etta May, Hazel L. and Mary Edith. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 76 on December 9th, 1967 in Jefferson, Williams County, Ohio.General Notes
Fay worked a few summers before he married in South Dakota where relatives of his Grandmother Elizabeth (Bailey) Hillard.
Fay and Ina lived in and around Montpelier and Pioneer during their married life, except for short periods in South Dakota and Detroit. Fay worked in a creamery, did construction work with a team of horsesand farmed. For a few years he farmed and worked on the Wabash Railroad but eventually moved to town and worked full time as a machinist for the railroad, retiring in 1956.
They owned a cottage on Brown's Point at George Lake, Indiana for 20 years,that the families all used and enjoyed. After Fay's retirement, they bought a mobile home in Bradenton, FL, where they spent their winters.
