Edward Gordon 
Edward was born on May 11th, 1823 in Henniker, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Edward's father was Enoch Gordon and his mother was Lydia Sargent. His maternal grandfather was Jonathan Sargent and his maternal grandmother is Molly Lucas. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jonathan S., William H., Enoch Monroe, Thomas H., Thirza T. and Julianna A.. He is the second youngest of the seven children.General Notes
His obituary says " When he was 22 years old he went to Mansfield, Ohiowhere he spent four years teaching school. Returning to his native place he engaged in the milling business for about two years and then went to Menasha, Wis. and engaged in the same business. He then located in Kosiusko County, Indiana until 1869 when he came to Kansas."
