William Colby 
William was born on September 30th, 1842 in Calais, Washington County, Maine. William's father was Jonathan Corliss Colby and his mother was Sarah Ann Pettigrove. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Colby and Mehitable Corliss. He had two brothers named Thomas Pettigrove and Warren Ildo. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 77 on May 17th, 1920 in Thorp, Clark County, Wisconsin.-
