James Colby 
James was born about 1827 in Jay, Essex County, New York. James' father is Blanchard Colby and his mother is Lydia Mace. His paternal grandparents are Reuben Colby and Judith Webster Corliss. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Blanchard, Malcolm Edward, Judathon, John Clark, Eliza, Annette, Mary, Martha and Emma Jane. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died after 1896.-
