Alan was born in 1272 in Scotland. Alan's father was John Stewart and his mother was Margaret De Bonkyl. His paternal grandfather was Alexander Stewart and his paternal grandmother is Jean Macrory; his maternal grandfather is Alexander De Bonkyl. He had six brothers and a sister, named James, Robert, Walter, Alexander, Hugh, John and Isabel. He had a half-sister named Margaret. He died at the age of 61 in 1333 in Battle Of Halidon Hill, Berwick-On-Tweed, Northumberland, England.General Notes
