Edward I was born on June 17th, 1239 in Westminster, Middlesex, England and his baptism took place there on June 21st, 1239.  Edward I's father was King Henry III Plantagenet and his mother was Eleanor Berenger.  His paternal grandparents were John I Plantagenet and Isabelle De Taillefer; his maternal grandparents were Raymond V Berenger and Beatrice Savoy. He had a brother named Edmund.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 68 on July 7th, 1307 in Burgh-On-The-Sands, Cumberland, England.  He was buried on October 28th, 1307 in Westminster Abbey, Westminister, Middlesex, England.
