John was born about 1669 in Hanover Co, Va.  John's father was John Lewis and his mother was Isabelle Miller.  His paternal grandparents were John Lewis-Prichards and Lydia Warner; his maternal grandparents were Augustine Warner and Mary (Cant) Towneley. He had nine brothers and seven sisters, named William, Abraham, Nicholas, Edward, John Zachary, Thomas, James, Gawin, Owen, Mary, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mildred, Patience and Angelica.  He was the fifth oldest of the seventeen children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Elizabeth and Sarah.  He died in 1725 in Gloucester Co, VA.  He was buried in Warner Hall, Gloucester Co, A.

‌John and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in Gloucester Co, VA.  They had six sons and ten daughters, named David, Charles, Abraham, John, William, Robert, Catherine, Elizabeth, Isabella, Ann, Elizabeth, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter and Daughter.
