James Porter *Deen Sr.

James Porter was born on December 25th, 1875 in Poetry,Van Zandt Co.,TX.¹   James Porter's father was John Ecter *Deen and his mother is Sarah Jane McLaren.  His paternal grandparents are Asberry Mack *Deen and Margaret Jane *Kirkpatrick. He had five brothers and a sister, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Robert Asberry, George Calloway, John Egbert, Frank Edgar, Clifford Roy, Connie, M. C. and S. K..  He is the oldest of the nine children. He has a half-brother named William Lester.
