Carloman was born in 0751 in Aachen,North Rhine-Westphalia.1   Carloman's father was Carolingian King of Franks Pepin (Le Bref (The Short)) * and his mother is Countess de Laon Bertrada (Grand Pied (Big Foot)) * II.  His paternal grandparents were Charles Martel (The Hammer) and Duchess de Treves Rotruda(Chrotrude). He had a brother named Charles(Charlemagne) Martel.  He died  due to food poisening in Samoucy,Aisne,France.  He was buried in December 0771 in St Remy Abbey,Rheims,Marne,France.2 1 


Carloman's family with Gerberga d'Aachen

‌Carloman and Gerberga were married in a religious ceremony in 0768 in Austrasia,France.2   They had two sons and two daughters, named Pepin, Louis, Siagre and Cunegonde.
