Aethelflaed verch Alfred, known as Lady of the Mercians, was born in 0885 in Wessex. Lady of the Mercians' father was King of Wessex Alfred (The Great) and her mother was Elswitha. Her paternal grandparents were Ethelwulf and Osburh. She had a brother and two sisters, named Edward, Aelfthryth and Ethelfleda. She was the youngest of the four children. She died in St. Peter's,Gloucester.General Notes
She administered the government of Mercia after the death of her brother, Edward, in his/their operation against the Danes.
