Nils was born in 1683 in Bonesvoll,Storen,Sor-Trondelog, Norway. Nils' father was Esten Eriksen and his mother was Kjersti Olsdatter. His paternal grandfather was Erik UNKNOWN and his paternal grandmother is Guri Halvorsdatter. He had two brothers and a sister, named Erik, Oluf and Guru.
