Sarah Ann was born in January 1822 in , Rutland, Vermont, USA. Sarah Ann's father was Edmund Austin and her mother was Lydia Dutchen or Dutchin. Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Austin and Anna Merritt. She had a brother and two sisters, named Daniel Frank, Anna and Phoeba. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 84 on March 6th, 1906 in Seymour Township, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA. She was buried on March 9th, 1906 in Osseo Cemetery, Trempealeau Cty., Wisconsin, USA.General Notes
