William de was born about 1095 in Shipbrook, Northwich, Cheshire, England.  William de's father was Richard Seigneur de Reviers and his mother was Adelise Peverel.  His paternal grandparents were William Seigneur de Vernon and Emma Fitz Osbern; his maternal grandparents were William "The Elder" Peverel , of Nottingham and Adeline. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert De, Hugh, Baldwin de, Hawise (Maud) de, Avis De, Avis de and Joan De.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died about 1174.
