Sarah was born on August 31st, 1806 in So. Salem, now Lewisboro, n.y.. Sarah's father was Abraham Hoyt and her mother was Mary Smith. Her paternal grandfather was Jachin Hoyt and her paternal grandmother is Hannah Keeler; her maternal grandparents are John Smith and Catherine Manchester. She had four brothers and three sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named David, Solomon, Walter W., Ira, Angeline, Mary Anne, Catherine and Gould.General Notes
