Catherine was born about 1500 in Of, Ashwell Thorpe, Norfolk, England.  Catherine's father was Thomas, 2nd Duke of Norfolk Howard and her mother was Agnes Tylney [DuchessofNorfolk].  Her paternal grandparents were John Howard Duke of Norfolk and Catherine Mullins Duchess of Norfolk; her maternal grandparents are Hugh Tylney [Sir Knight] and Daughter Tailboys. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named William, Thomas, George, John, Richard, Henry, William, 1st Baron of Effingham, Elizabeth, Dorothy, Anne, Agnes, Anne, Countess of Oxford and Elizabeth, Countess of Sussex. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, Edward, Lordhigh, Admiral, Lord Edmund, John, Elizabeth, Muriel and Ann.  She died in 1544 in England.  She was buried on May 11th, 1554 in Howard Chapel, Lambeth, Surrey, England.
