Ellendor Bessie Hayes 
Ellendor Bessie was born on November 17th, 1834 in Shelbyville, Hanover Twp,Shelby Co, Ind. Ellendor Bessie's father was James B. Hayes ,Jr and her mother was Elizabeth"Betsy" Wheeler. Her paternal grandparents were James B. Hayes , Sr and Sarah; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin"Mine" Wheeler and Sarah Barlow. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Martin Van Buren, James K Polk, John Cole, Judith Julia B., Sally, Angelina Geneva and Mary Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Benjamin "Frank" Franklin and Nancy "Amanda". She died at the age of 67 on February 20th, 1902 in Little Valley, Owyhee, Idaho.General Notes
According to Aunt Mate's book, Ellendor moved to Calif in 1854 (AGE 18)with sister, Judith (age 16) & Aunt Dicey Wheeler . She married MattStone and had 3 children.
Through an internet contact, I found a great grandaughter (Kathy D) of"Bessie Elender" Ellendor who says she married Matt in 1849 in Indianaat age 15. They had a son Granville in 1854 in Missouri (Linden,Atchison County?) and seven other children were born in Californiabetween 1855 and 1868. She and Matt moved to Idaho where they died andwere buried in Little Velley, Owyhee, Idaho.
