Swanhilde was born about 0950.  Swanhilde's father was Hermann Billung Of Saxony Duke and her mother is Hildegarde Of Westerburg.  Her paternal grandfather was Billung Of Saxony Count and her paternal grandmother is Frederunda Or Hildeburg (). She had a brother and a sister, named Bernard I and Mathilda Von Sachsen.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died on November 26th, 1014.  She was buried in 1014.

‌Swanhilde and Eckehard I were married in a religious ceremony after 0979.  They had a daughter named Mathilda.

They had a son named Gero.
