Susan was born in 1797 in Martinsburg, Berkeley, WV. Susan's father was Thomas White MC BRIDE and her mother was Catherine JOHN. Her paternal grandfather was James MC BRIDE and her paternal grandmother is Mary WHITE; her maternal grandparents are Thomas JOHN and Ruth EVANS. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Amos Evans, Rebecca, Ruth, Daughter, Mary, Hannah, Elizabeth and Isabelle. She is the oldest of the nine children.-
