John's father was Robert Greer and his mother was Mary Whitsett. His paternal grandfather was Henry Greer and his paternal grandmother is Mary Turner. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Jonathon, Robert, Thomas, Mary, Abigail, Alice, Sarah and Susanna. He died on May 2nd, 1742.General Notes

get as they were probably cousins and the quaker religion didnt
approve,
later they were re admitted to the church after writing a letter of
repentance
this person wanders if when they were re admitted they may have
changed
thier name from greer to greeves (or) greaves for various reasons
but in those days religion was very important !
