Hugues XI was born in 1220 in Lusignan, Vienne, , France.  Hugues XI's father was Hugues X De Lusignan and his mother was Isabella Of Angouleme Heiress.  His paternal grandparents were Hugues IX De Lusignan and Maud D Angouleme; his maternal grandparents were Aymer De Valence Count and Alice De Courtenay. He had a brother and a sister, named William De Valence and Alice.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Henry III, Richard Plantagenet, Isabella and Eleanor.  He died at the age of 30 in 1250.  He was buried in 1250.

‌Hugues XI and Yolande were married in a religious ceremony in January 1235.  They had a son and a daughter, named Hugues XII and Alice.
