William de Mandeville 
William was born after 1178. William's father was Geoffrey FitzPiers de Mandeville and his mother was Beatrice de Say. His paternal grandparents were Piers de Lutegareshale and Maud FitzGeoffrey de Mandeville; his maternal grandfather was William IV de Say and his maternal grandmother is UNKNOWN Mary. He had two brothers and a sister, named Geoffrey, Henry and Maud FitzGeoffrey. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John FitzGeoffrey of, Hawise FitzGeoffrey FitzPiers and Cecily. He died on November 14th, 1189 in Rouen. He was buried in Shouldham Priory.General Notes
Some sources list his death on December 25, 1227 while other genealogists
list his death on January 8, 1226/1227. He had no children so the
Earldom of Essex went to his sister, Maud.
