Joseph was born about 1847 in Northend, Burton Dasset, Warwickshire, England. Joseph's father was Thomas Walden and his mother was Sarah A. Hirons. His paternal grandparents were Unknown Walden and UNKNOWN Mary; his maternal grandparents were John Hirons and Sarah Freeman. He had three sisters named Ann, Mary and Sarah Ellen. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died after 1900 in Kansas or Tazewell County, Illinois.General Notes
